I have the relay installed, just need to wire a switch into the reverse circuit.

You can rent a ball joint press from autozone.

He already had the relay. I was saying to tap into the reverse 12v to power the relay as well as his manual switch to power the relay, just land them under the same terminal. Then when you switch your manual switch you'll back feed your reverse lights to come on as well as the aux and vice versa. If you didn't want the reverse lights to fire with the aux lights you'd need to put a diode in line with the wire coming from the reverse lights.

Please tell me I'm not too crazy thinking this will work? It's for the trans temp gauge

Also, any guidance as to which line is hot and which is not? I'm thinking the one further from the pan is the hot line.

me and my buddy were gonna do it sunday, but at work today he said eff it and volunteered to help me get it done after work. only thing that sucks is that i was unprepared and didn't have time to get my tires mounted, so i'm stuck with tiny tire syndrome for the trip. oh well.. haha

it's a rubicon express budget boost with the add-a-leafs out back.. i also tossed on a set of vatozone drop shackles to help with a little sag, and to make up for the weight of all the crap i plan to tote around when this thing's "done" .. little bummed tho, because the shackles are near vertical right now, which means i'll be needing to look into a relocation setup eventually.

Should still work without being tuned, just run the risk of frying it sooner than a tuned radio.

Yeah not worth the risk imho. Just get over to radio shack and get the swr meter. Tuning shouldn't take you more than 15 minutes. Just be in a large wide open area without trees or buildings. Keep the doors closed and windows up while tuning. Double check all your wiring before starting though.
