I will be in Vegas on a business trip that weekend, but I will be going to Walker one of the weekends between now and then....as soon as I get the SYE and Belly Skidplate installed.

Good!! I think all of the gates should be closed all of the time at Walker Valley, unless a Jeep or bike club is having an event where they need the lower rock pit for a staging/camping area and they get it cleared directly by the DNR. If a rig can't climb the hill into the lower rock pit to get to Upper Mainline trail or climb the rocks around the Lower Mainline trail, gate, then it has no business on the trails. those are the guys cutting all the trees and stumps out of the trails and moving the rocks that is making them so D*** easy. I could almost drive my wife's Charger through Upper mainline it has gotten so cleared out by novice wheelers whose rigs are not set up good enough for the trails. It also keeps the guys out that are dumping trash and stealing trees to sell for firewood. Okay, I will get down off of my soap box now but, I've been wheeling Walker valley for 17 years and it went through one major trail change because this was happening. They closed a bunch of my favorite trails. I fear we are dangerously close to Walker Being closed for good...or becoming a bikes only area.

The only trail that I know is close is Tiber tammer and that is due to logging! It will reopen in three months!

None of the trails are closed. What I think he is saying is that all of the gates, along Peter Burns road the go up to the trails, are closed. As long as your Jeep can climb the little hill into the lower rock pit or climb over the rock pile beside the other gate, as yours can, then you are golden. The gates keep the riff raff out while all the local wheelers know the little short cuts to get in.
