tranmission/torque convert replacement
Ok I'm new to the forum,
I bought a 97' grand Cherokee about a year ago its been a daily for awhile, when I bought the car they told me trans and engine were in good condition. They failed tou o tel torque converter chatters in top gear goin 60mph. I'm lookin to replace the torque converter and or transmission. Any local shops in the south Seattle/south king county area, or someone on here (the forum) looking for some extra cash, ammco transmission quoted me 2300-2600 for them to do it, but if someone can direct me in a less expensive direction ide appreciate it. I'm on a slight budget given I just had a new baby 2 weeks ago

All Automatics Must Come Out
Having worked with a guy that worked for them I would never take a vehicle there, they teach there workers that slogan
Depends how far you want to drive? I would recommend Lakewood transmission, I worked there for a year.
I also would recommend Thurston County Transmission got the one in my truck there. They come with a life time warranty against breakage.
Both pry a little far to drive for you but I trust both of them where as AAMCO I wouldn't go to if they were the last place on earth after hearing his horror stories of ripping people off.
