ok so a couple years ago i had the motor replaced. I have no idea where it came from and out of what. since then my temp gauge hasn't worked, due to the sending unit isnt there and there isnt a hole for it. any ideas what year this could be and possibly how to fix the problem.

 

A picture would really help a lot here but, every motor I have ever worked on has a threaded hole in the head or one of the heads if a V type motor, for a threaded temperature guage sending unit to be threaded into. Just look the head on your motor over really close. I bet you find a hole with a threaded plug in it somewhere. That will be the spot for your sending unit.

 

so far i have'nt seen anything. will double look tomorrow also.

 

ok its a 97 head and block, wish i would have know that when that @$##@ installed it
