So I was peeking around at craigslist today killing some time, I come across this Jeep. He wants $8,000! Am I crazy or is $8,000 an over inflated price?

Im going to play devils advocate here and say that we have a sKewed vision of a jeeps "worth". A stock jeep to us, is close to useless on the trail. Therefore we do not see the value in this jeep. Say, it is spectacular in condition. And someone is looking to do a "clean" jeep build, or wants a perfect starting block. Then this would be a hard to get, and rare find. Lets face it, most jeeps these days have issues. Some not as many as others, but 95% were not pampered.

I would also never pay that much. But to someone, it may be worth it...

Nice jeep but 3k too much. For that price though id expect like 20k miles on it lol. Probably one of those owners who thinks all the money they put into it is added onto the value.

If I had the money there was some guy selling 2000 Jeep XJ with every option ever offered, 60k miles complete paint job, full Banks header exhaust and beautiful tan leather interior. I guess he sold it, was asking 10k, the only thing I hated about it was he put white racing stripes on it and it had a super 44 which could have been changed. The only problem would be if I payed that much I wouldn't use it.

$8000 for that thing? Not a chance. I'd say $3000 tops. Though I guess location has a lot to do with that. Even still, I'd rather buy a semi-beater, fix her, and still end up $5000 below that price tag.

I can top that:

No I can't. They tagged it. Stock XJ for 13,500 in STL.

Mid year... It does have the 0331 intake on it though, so who knows. For 14 grand, I have bigger questions than that.
