Default Rock Candy Closed?!

so ive heard and seen for myself that Rock Candy is now closed to 4x4's. they have jersey barriers blocking the trails to the power lines. and the over nighter has been closed off for a while, i guess all it is now is ORV. Any one have an idea why? and also where are other spots? Oh and Capital is being Heavily logged...they are kickin us out of our Habbitat..

btw, sorry to hear about your local trail. it does suck that there's whiners out there ruining it for us responsible wheelers.
i'm sure they're out there on their loud atvs with large tread mud gorillas tearing up the trails themselves.

To my understanding it has always been closed to 4X4. But people just dont listen and do it anyway. In 02 I rode quads there and it was closed to 4X4s then. And capital forest is quads and bikes only and has been that way for years as well. Please wheel responsiby and at legal places. It hurts us all

this ^ is my understanding for the past 7-8 years is it has always closed to 4x4. Sounds like people are still illegally wheeling it and the authorities have barricaded it now. Before you wheel somewhere make sure its legal. Stupid actions of people wheeling illegal areas hurts all of us!

When has it been opened?

they barricaded Rock candy, which was open to 4x4. it was made by 4x4's, capital forest was never my wheeling spot. but they are logging the actual mountain not the quad trails on the low land. i was referring to the fact that all these places are not gunna be accessible to 4x4s or 4x2s

i think it started with the locals and then straddline extending and makin jeep trials then the illigegal wheelers pushin their way ther the quad trails. i know there are not that much wider. i have been through some tight quad trails on my property. then its the wheelers and bikers that go stommpin through the forest and tearring shtuff up, campin, throwing garbage everywhere. so in conclusion its not just one group of people its everybody. but yes rock candy ways made by wheeler cuz there were roads to the power lines. but still tech illegal, cuz its not ment for off roading but for the pwer companies.

remember tread lightly.

I don't know what you just said here. I think I made it through two sentences but after that it gave me a headache. Pronunciation works wonders........

how are we all part of it? are you the group that didn't tread lightly? I wasn't. Its the little percent that ruin it for the rest of us. I am part of the group that treads lightly and not the part that got the place shut down.

we need to educate ones what it is to tread lightly because their actions effect the rest of us.

no not like that. im just startin out. havent been on any trails yet. but what i mean is to the public we are all the same. so just becuz the ignorant wheelers go out and trash the forest, the public doesnt see the responsible ones out there staying to the roads, pathways or desinated trails. so the public viewer sees all "wheelers" as the same. they all go out and trash the place. so your considered part of this, a wheeler. now i know being apart of the "wheeler" that there is a percent of them who respectfully obey the rules. so what happens now is a battle vs. good and bad wheelers. so its the good wheelers job, you and me to restore the proper definition of "wheeler" back in place.
but who cares. the forest is shut down now. the deed has been done. but now its time to move on to other places that might be in jeperdy....which is idk.

to xjoffroad. are you tryin to bash on us or something? cause no i dont go out and go in shut down places. thats why i was upset about them shutting down rock candy. i go to capital to hunt or to just get away. i am not about to do anything illegal. but you kno there is ppl out there that absolutely despise wheelers. when i lived up north by port townsend me and my buddys were drivin through town and got egged because they are a bunch of tree huggers that would love to kill us. but that doesnt mean we were doing anything wrong. it just shows that we get profiled.
