Alex's Junk...er...Jeep is broke. He's riding with me for the Walker Valley Run this weekend. He has parts on order, though. His jeep should be back up soon.

Hey Timmy! How are things looking for the Rim Rock redo Run?? Is your Jeep going to be back up in time?? We had a blast up at Walker last Saturday. We have a really greasey slick mud hill climb with a boulder sticking up about 1/3 of the way up. The slick rock on Expressway is always fun and we played around in the rock pit for awhile after stopping for lunch. We met a couple of new guys who just might become part of the normal crew who comes to all PNW CF wheeling runs. I really am looking forward to this Rim Rock Run. It's another place that is farely close to my hometown that I've never been wheeling at.

Quote: Jeep Unit is heading back to rimrock on Aug 4th and 5th. Any of you guys are welcome. It will be a little drier than this last weekend but will still be a ton of fun!
Is the Jeep Unit camping out for the entire weekend, just overnight Saturday night or is this just a wheeling trip for the day, thing?

I have looked all over the Interweb and I can't seem to find ANY map of the trails near Rimrock Lake. Timmy, do the trails you guys run have numbers or names?? and what are they?

Also I can find the Tieton Rd./Tieton Resevoir Rd./ SF-1200 Rd. that is off the south side of Hwy. 12. I can't find the SF-1201 Rd. that you say The Unit Camps off of. I guess I will just have to get as far as I can and then have you guys lead me around to the fun trails.

Okay so I just figured out after Eyeballing this Google Map of the Rimrock Lake area. (Tieton Rd./Tieton Resevoir Rd./SF-1200 Rd.) can be accessed in 2 different places by making a right turn off of Hwy. 12 as I'm traveling east. Does The Jeep Unit turn onto Tieton Resevoir Rd./SF-1200 Rd. Where it comes out onto Hwy. 12 at the east end of Rimrock lake or where it comes out onto Hwy. 12 at the west end of Rimrock Lake? knowing that would definitely make it easier for me to find the place where you all camp and more importantly where the trails are.

Man you been busy buck! lol. We turn onto tieton road at the eastern entrance from highway 12. About 3 miles from there on the left hand side you will find 1202. There is a cattle grate about 200 yards past 1202, so if u hit that you went just to far. The road is mark clearly with a nf1202 marker.

You head up that road and there is all kinds of campgrounds around on both sides of the road. we usually camp about 2-3 miles up.

We all plan on camping friday eve to sunday. I am not sure if my jeep will be ready but I will try, i have searched every junk yard in yakima and found no axle shaft for the passenger side.

The spencer creek trail starts at the bottom of road 1202.You take a left at the y to go to the trail and take the right to go to the camps. There is a ton of trails up here and my cousin has a map of them, i remember seeing one on the internet to i will try to find it for you.

one piece. When my u joint broke it broke the ears on the long shaft and the short shaft that goes into the hub, so the whole assembly would be easiest to pull probably.

Definately take a look for me! I can meet up with you in cle elum sometime this weekend if you find anything!

Alex, I am heading down to Chehalis Friday afternoon after I get off work. If we could meet somewhere along I-5 I can give you my spare D30 short side shaft and unit bearing and you can give it to Timmy. I want the Trail Guide's Jeep up for the Rim rock Run.

Timmy, it's the whole thing. Inner and outer shaft, knuckle U-joint and the unit bearing assembly already attached. Just remove the 3 knuckle bolts, slide your junked one out and slide the new one in. I like carrying my sapres like this. it makes a trailside axle swap a 20 minute job. It's all yours. Just get me back whenever you can.
