I was reading in the local Everett Herald that Reiter Pit is open ... only to Motorcycles and it appears to be only one trail.
Has anyone heard different? can jeeps run the same trail? Man I used to love going up there …. Looks like it is getting closer to fully opening.

Sweet! I cant wait til it opens for jeeps. It will be cool to have another trail system in western WA.

 

Don't have too high of hopes, it will re-open to 4x4's in a longer time than you hope. It's last on their list because of the impact they have on the land. My boss lives in index and takes his horses through there all the time. He says it's beautiful but still only limited use to get people ready for the rules. If they opened it up and let everyone in at once, (that would be EVERYONE because EVERYONE loved reiter) that place would be a mad house and trashed in no time, not enough deputized DNR to keep an eye on people.... They aren't even done with the jeep trails. It will be a blast when it's completely open tho!

Not anymore. Used to live in woodinville. Used to go and camp/wheel up there every weekend. I was one of the one that usually cleaned up, and didnt cause issues....sucks my old school spot is cloaed

 

Ditto, how long ago did you move out? My pops lives in woodinville and I lived there for about 3 years. Granted im only 20 lol

 

Well when my xj was a baby she was up there three times. I moved away from home about five years ago

Nah, its been years...

I saw my first WA black bear there, had my first beer there, though i was gonna die there. That spot is locked in my brain as one of the great childhood memories.

 

Agreed, the old reiter is missed, it sucks that it was closed due to the morons that just destroyed everthing in thier path up there and then just left it and made the responsible wheelers a bad rapp. I'm sure the same people will go up and destroy things just out of spite.
Maybe one day I can show my kids that great area

 

That's crazy 3.6 mil huh if I got paid that much to build trails I would be a zillionaire now! State sure has a way of making things complicated haha!
