So my Jeep has been running a bit rough lately, long it sits... hard it is to crank over. The lights on the dash dim real low and barely turns over... after a few chugs it starts. After it gets running... I have to keep my foot on the gas to keep it running... but then after 15 minutes or so the jeep runs fine. Auto zone already tested the battery and said it was sh**. 11.75 volts on 100% charge if I recall right. I wouldn't think a bad battery would cause my jeep to want to stall... I figure the alternator should keep the rig running. Whats your opinions?

 

If the batt is **** change it. A ecu and other accesories require and need a certain amount of voltage.so changing the bat would be a good start .best of luck.

 

if the battery is bad your running it off the altinator with can cause stress to it. i would strongly recomend putting a better battery in

 

I think I have a bad cell, And so the alternator is trying to charge a battery that wont charge on top of running all my other stuff. Battery will be replaced.
