Well, worst case scenerio, I have the stock D30 that is in my 96 Jeep, now. I will just build another Super 30 out of it. The other Super 30 axle was built from a 94 XJ axle so the 96 would most likely be better anyway. I really hope it presses back in solid cauz I have a lot of time and effort into that axle...and I kinda promised the stocker that came in Great White to my son but, if my other axle bad then I will have to use it. I'm sure it will be fine.

Hey since it has come up in my build, does anybody out there know of anything a guy can do about a worn out hole in a D30 where a ball joint will no longer press in tight and stay?? I figure it would pretty much be time to sling it in the weeds...

I took a look at Autozone this morning. Timken Hub Unit Bearing Assemblies are $107.99 apiece. I don't figure I will find a better deal than that and I know Timken is a good brand reguardless of where you buy it. The "Duracrap" Hub Unit bearing Assemblies are $70.99 big difference in price but a HUGE difference in quality. I'm figuring running big tires and wheel spacers contributed to the demise of my hubs but heck I figured they would last longer then the 3 or 4 wheeling trips I actually went on since these things were new. Although 2 of those wheeling trips were road trip to Elbe and home and a road trip to Rimrock Lake and home. Lots of road time. I'm definitely going with Timken this time. Just another hard lesson learned that cutting corners in certain places doesn't pay off in the end. I'm mean don't get me wrong. If you are on a budget the Duralast Gold knuckle U-joints and duralast Hubs are fine if you have no problem with buying new after each wheeling trip.

Thats how my old d30 was i think the hole was worn. Ive never seen or heard of a fix. Theres no way to sleeve it. Weld it up would be the only option but if it broke on the trail talk about being sol on fixing it lol. If it was mine and the hole is junk id use the 96 axle

Yeah, pretty much just making room for 35s with minimal cutting. The cops are straight up fender flare and mud flap ***** where I live. I don't have the cash to cut a lot out of the fenders and then have to buy big after market fender flares. I'm sure I will still end up having to cut the fenders but I'm hoping I will get away with just raising and trimming the stock flares.

So I had a few minutes last night and I wanted to check out these old Hub Bearing Assemblies. I removed the inner seals and as you can see from the pic, the one was completely dry inside...including NO grease, just *****...LOL!!! The other one was completely filled solid with rusty, crusty, nasty crud. The difference was really kind of wierd considering they both had been through all of the same driving.

So, I was shopping for Hub Bearing Assemblies, for my Jeep, today on E-bay and I either got the deal of the century or I got porked up my you know what. I bought a pair of "Timken P/N: 513084" Hub Wheel Bearing Assemblies for my 94 Jeep Cherokee front Dana 30 axle for GET THIS, $63.90, delivered to my front door. This guy at a place called True Blue Auto Parts is selling these things on E-bay for $31.95 a piece. I took pics to prove it because I still don't believe it myself.

So, now here are the pics since I have fat fingers today. Anyway, this guy is selling Timken brand P/N: 513084 Hub Wheel Bearing Assemblies for the Jeep Cherokee Dana 30 front axle for $31.95 a piece and free shipping. I have a pair enroute to my front door right now as I type this, for a total of $63.90. At least he claims they are Timken on his E-bay ad. We shall see for sure when they show up at my house...lol.

Hopefully, if they are some cheap knock off brand that is manufactured out of recycled Folger's Coffee can metal, that the guy at least throws in a free tube of lube.....LMAO!!!!

I just have my doubts as these things are 1/2 the price I paid for the wasted "Duracrap" Hubs I just pulled out of my axle, when they were new.
