So let me get this straight. You are going to put the front end back to 4 like like it originally was? What a novel concept that coils and links flex better than leaf springs....LOL...I know you did because it was the cheapest way to make it strong enough to handle the heavier axle but I just have to give you crap. The rig is really looking super killer like something out of the next Road Warrior movie...LOL!!! Sorry I missed that trip over east of the mountains but, I just got the trac bar Friday and put it on Saturday. This guy is so done doing business with Rusty's. 6 weeks I waited to get that Trac bar from them. .....and I still don't have a trailor.

Ha thanks brian... In a round about way lol well I didn't have the money to do the full front 3 link at the same time I did the axle swap. But now I do I just picked up steel to start building a new high clearance crossmember that my upper control arm will be mounted to. I also finally got my front frame stiffeners in the mail from HD engineering offroad so those will be going on soon also. I'm currently trying to stop a huge leak coming from my steering box and trying to build my brothers samurai/buggy for him in between my jeep sessions lol

Where is your steering box leaking out of?? I thought you just got a brand new one when you put your Hyd steering on.

I used my same box but it just started leaking baaaad from somewhere on the front of the box

Shoulda stepped up to one out of a 3/4 or 1 ton truck like you did for all other pieces that feed anything to the bigger axles...well it isn't like this project of yours came with directions. You're living and learning each step of the way. If I ever decide to put my Jeep on 1 ton axles I will know will have it easy. I will know what to do rightaway cause I've been watching you go through all the trials and tribbulations with yours.

Well I read around on pirate and a lot of guys running the big axles and tires were using the stock box with hydro assist tapped into the box. I'm piecing a couple boxes together to see how that holds up

Just remember the initial steering linkage setup...lol...don't go cheap kid!!! Kinda like to continue to see your ugly mug around the trails.

I don't run yj springs but I do have a full set of front and rears out of my brothers samurai that he wants to sell.

So I bit the bullet and ordered some stuff. I got the PSC hi flow steering pump and external reservoir to get some more fluid flowing through the system to make the hydro assist work a bit better. I also got a new steering box that I'm going to rebuild and drill/tap for hydro. I am also ordering the C-rock inner frame steering box brace to get rid of the aluminum one. This should all hopefully fix my issues with the steering. I'm tempted to put a trac bar on the front axle too to try and save my leaf spring bushings a bit more

The front trac bar makes a HUGE difference when running a YJ springs over the axle. I saw a SOA 94 YJ and the kid tried to run it without the trac bar for more flex. He couldn't get the thing to steer at all. I really think you should put a trac bar on yours. If a trac bar is made right for the rig it is on, it doesn't limit flex at all.

Well that's the reason I went hydro assist so that the steering wouldn't push against the frame. But my steering is fine just wanna save some bushings. And I will need one when I do my 3 link anyways

Hi Mate I have read your build from start to finish and I have to start by saying " There is NO WAY on earth I would have gone from Coils to Leafs. BUT!!! after reading this I have to say you made it work and it appears to work well!! The thing I really like about the set up is how "Simple" it is and how "Unclutered" the front looks with out all the links and crap you have with coils. You have shown you can get flex and plenty of it. I can see why you went that way (Budget) and I would now even concider it myself (my mates would give me Sh***t) and mine has to be street driven. But you realy have me thinking??? thanks for the thread, well worth the read.
