so i finally got some time to finish up a few things on the jeep. i pulled the rear end and reset the pinion angle and now she rides smoooother than ever!
i also got to my shock issue. instead of spending $150 on shackle relocation brackets i decided to make a new upper rear shock mount. i had seen the JKS crossover adjustable mount and figured i could make my own. so i did. now with the new mount i pointed the top of the shocks towards eachother so that i could get more travel out of my rear shocks and they wont bottom out when i hit bumps. here is what it looks like

This thing looks good. What mpgs are you getting?
Those shock angles look pretty gnarly. Thats gotta decrease up/down travel a ton with them being that far in and angled that much. And I just got some mtrs myself. Im in love

having the shocks like that actually does the exact opposite. i now cant bottom the shock out or fully extend it. i get more flex like this than with them almost vertical. at an angle it takes a lot more to extend or retract a shock. i lose a little of this shocks ability to make it a smoother ride but i am willing to sacrifice that for knowing that i dont have to worry about the shocks stopping me from anything

Thats interesting, good way to mount the shocks. Id hope you aren't too concerned about ride quality, you are on full widths with kevlar sidewalled tires.
looking good!

I noticed your hood is up in every picture.. does your Jeep really run that hot even in the cold? I took my electric fan out for the winter because it never gets hot enough to turn on, and if it did.. i'd be glad because my heater would work better!
I'll be looking for pics of your cage build.
I have a question for you about your hydro assist... does it feel twitchy at all on the street, or does it for the most part drive pretty straight. Mine constantly feels like it it fighting itelf back and forth. I have pretty much the exact same setup as you. Just wondering....

yes my hydro assist is twitchy at high speeds. it is very touchy until you get used to it and learn how to steer it. it actually does take a skill to drive a hydro assisted jeep on the street lol its really bad when there are decent ruts on the street too.
i will be giving sneak peaks at the cage but wont post the whole cage build til after its done. want it to be a suprise

yes it really does run that hot. i have my power steering cooler and tranny cooler in front of the radiator. i have my electric fan on a toggle switch and it is always ON. i will be getting an aluminum radiator when im doing the cage to hopefully cool it down a bit.
I am running just a factory style 3 row, not even aluminum, and a cowl hood and I can wheel in Moab in the summer with the AC blasting. Have you tried a new fan clutch or tried trouble shooting it at all?

Yeah, i've been driving mine on the street and have been complaining about it to a couple of my buddies. One of them runs hydro assist but doesnt really drive it on the street, he seemed to think there was something wrong with it. I told him it's done it with both ram's, and with the 1/4" and 3/8" hoses. So it's good to know that driving like crap means mine's working how it's supposed to. I am going to put some inline valves so I can shut off flow to the ram.

Ya I might try a few things before buying a whole new radiator.
Ya I have talked to a few people with hydro also and they had the same issues I have so I'm not to worried about it. It doesn't see much of the street anyways
