yes they are from a waggy. when i first put the springs in i flipped them around but it would have pushed it way to far forward and i would need a new driveline. i have contomplated drilling new center pin holes and going forward a little more thou. the driveline has enough for a little stretch and the steering would actually line up better

 

Build a new front d-line i use chevy slips and splines on my front cause they dont wear out as fast as the jeep ones do i could build you one. Ive never had a problem with them.

 

i looked at the front end a little closer and i should be able to push it forward about two inches and still be able to use the driveline.

so tommorow im takin her out for another break in run. gonna test out the new steering. she is already for tomorow

well it didnt go so well. got if off the trailer and started heading up the road and about a mile later i blow up a rear wheel bearing... the second one i have blown up in a week. gotta figure out what the hell is going on there. so needless to say, the day wasnt a success

Didnt aubrun car care do your gears for you? I would have hoped who ever did your axels Checked to make sure the housings were ok.

 

why? when we do gears we never check axle housings. wouldnt be the shops fault. even when I was at Randys ring and pinion. we never checked to make sure a housing was straight.

 

Why not? I believe that is absolutley stupid not to do a quick check. OMFG. It takes a whole extra 15 minutes to due a quick check. When someone brings something to you to build they most likely dont know how to do the work so why not check it for them. This kind of oh well attitude pisses me off. Being a maschinist i have to have everything perfect. And i guess iam an idiot for think you do quality work. Sorry brandon for threadjacking. Just ignorant i dont care type people is what is wrong drives me crazy,.

 

wow, calm down dude. setting up gears and machining something are on complete different sides of the spectrum. he has never even said if its bent or not. let wait and see if he finds the issue at hand............

 

Hmm.. SO your suggesting that one is precision work , while the other doesn't need to be? Interesting.
So out of curiosity, what school did you go to for your Automotive degree or training xjoffroad?
Oh and myredxj i know many Machinists so i understand your training and attention to detail, there is even a program at the college i went to; But I am Just wondering, out of curiosity, if you wen through an apprenticeship, trade school or college?

 

I didnt go to college and i set up my own gears. You dont have to go to school to become a good mechanic. And if a housing is bent sobad that it burns up two bearings in a week then it doesnt take a bad *** super educated muchinist to see that its bent.

 

I to set up my own gears. went to skagit valley college and got my mechanics and deisel mechanics certs there. your housing can be bent by one thousands of an inch to cause harm in your diff. sometimes yes you can see with your eye that the housing is bent and sometimes you can. yes i will inform the customer if the housing is bent but most of the time you cant really tell. but if he has blew up 2 bearings in a week then yes you should be able to see with your eye the housing is bent.

 

yes setting up gears and machine work are totally different.
