make sure every bolt is loose, then give it a tap with a mallet. if that doesn't work tap a thin screw driver between the pan and block and pry.

mine was the same way man, i had to hammer a screw driver in about 3 spots. I bent mine a little getting it off, just straightened the lip up and all was well. Was a pain in the ***, try hammering a decent putty knife all around it.

My valve cover gasket had a leak and oil ran all over down there plus the rear main so I don't feel like deep frying my engine lol

Go ahead and take the starter off too so you don't have any more cussing after you finally get the pan separated and go to drop it out.

I had the same problem with my 23 year old stuck seal. here's your solution, take a 1' long piece of wood and wedge a jack between the Frame or upper control arm (what ever you can) and the pan. Use the wood to put between the jack and pan so you don't punch a hole through it. Simply tighten down the jack until it pops off

i got it off!!!! i just kept picking at it with a screwdriver and chisel, eventually popped loose! so happy, so now tomorrow (or another nice day...) ill drop the front axle and pull the pan out and clean up the surfaces and replace the rear main and put it all back together and take her for a test drive!!

If the pan would not come off you should have just welded the rear main seal and been done with it, oh well you could weld the pan back on now right?
