Not to bad here. I only seen one wrangler my last outing at the dunes he waved. Grand Cherokee that blasted past me didn't. It all depends on the driver gotta a lot of young punks here I don't ever expect a wave.

Shoot, wranglers wave at me more than I'd like them too lol. Round here I get less Cherokees that wave than I do the wranglers. Buncha loser XJ drivers in Seattle....

the wranglers feel like they are the original 4x4 enthusiasts. *****'s ---> Jeep ---> CJ. a direct bloodline tie to the original. but like history has stated time and time again bloodlines can lead to inbreeeding and thus genetic and mental deformities. i.e. Wranglers drivers are retarded. ( no offense meant to those with actual disablities/ challenges)

When I see a rig coming whether it be a lifted Cherokee or Wrongler, I can usually see if I'm going to get my peace sign returned, right away. If the rig looks a little used as in dirty or muddy, scratches, dents, maybe painted faded a little or straight up rattlercan job. Now, those are the guys I always get a wave or peace sign back from. Now, your really pretty, shiney, waxed, armor all'd, stickers still look brand new on the shocks, rigs. Those A'holes are the ones who just look at me like I'm stoned when I throw up the peace sign. That has been my experience, anyway.

I've gotten into the whole Wrangler/Cherokee debate several times and the one thing they always point to is the unibody. I like wranglers but my decision to go XJ was based on the size of my wallet. The amount that it cost me to buy and build my XJ would have just covered the cost to buy a Wrangler. My wrangler friend argued that to make it a good wheeler you need to do frame stiffeners and other mods that cancel out the benifit of the low buy in cost. My response was that although you will eventually need stiffeners you can wheel it for a while without stiffeners (especially with the added stiffness of rock sliders). That time you spend waiting to afford or install the frame stiffeners you are still wheeling. I also dont like the idea of spending a whole lot of money on a rig that I am going to take out in the woods and try to break.

I haven't done frame stiffeners. However, I do have a big beefy belly skid and Rock Sliders. A somewhat Beefy front bumper and a Class III tow hitch. I think the combination of all my armor is what has kept my unibody somewhat straight through a lot of hard wheeling.

Technically a unibody is stronger than a frame, especially with a square tube shape like an XJ. I love my XJ cuz its plenty tough for the wheeling I do, and I don't need a trailer like my Wrangler buddies do. The peace sign seems to be universal with down to earth drivers. When I was in the VW crowd, same thing occurred. Stuck up jerks in pretty cars just aren't friendly.

i love cherokees, alot people that i wheel with, wheel them cuz they are disposible rigs and you can wheel the **** out of them and then go get another one on craigslist for a couple hundered bucks or find one sitting in someones yard and swap all your parts over too another. its wranglers hatin on cherokees cuz cherokees aint got a frame.
