so the NAXJA Noobfest will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday January 16th at the Walker Valley staging area. all are welcome to join. There will be a small group of us leaving from bonney lake together. if anyone would like to join us along the way they are more than welcome to. it is roughly a two hour drive from bonney lake to Mt. vernon. we will be stopping there to meet up with some buddies and have breakfast before we meet at 10:00. i figure we should arrive in mt. vernon no later than 9:00am? (how does that sound Brian?) so this means we need to leave at about 7:00am from bonney lake. those of you who are leaving from bonney lake with us lets decide a meeting place.

Branden, Tim,
I will meet you guys at Denny's in Mt. Vernon at 9:00am on Saturday. As you come into Mt. Vernon on I-5 it will be your 2nd exit. Exit 227 for College Way/WA-538. You will see Denny's on your right as you get off the freeway. Just go right off the exit onto College Way and then take your first right and then go right again. You kinda have to loop around behind the restaurante to get to it. We will have some chow and then head out to Walker. It's about a 20 minute drive from Denny's. Looks like Bobby is n't going to make it and my son won't be making it either. Bummer but, we will have fun anyway. Too warm to have any snow up at Walker. We've had enough rain to make it wet, muddy and sloppy though. Should be a good time....and we're getting even more rain through the rest of the week.

I can be there at 8:00am or 8:30...heck I can even be there at 7. LOL.....I'm the one with the short drive this time. I think 8:30 would be plenty early. That would give us an hour to eat and then a half hour to get to Wlker. So, yeah let's just say between 8 and 8:30am meeting at Denny's. I'll be there at 8:00 so just look for my Jeep.

Haven't seen any activity on this thread in a few days. I was just wondering if we are still on with the plan of meeting at Denny's in Mt. Vernon at 8:30am on Saturday.

Allright, I will see you guys there at 8:30 then. Hopefully I will get my new baby leafs I ordered from Rusty's tomorrow so I can have them installed for Saturday. I get some crazy axle wrap under acceleration and braking without them. With or without them I will be there Saturday morning ready to rock!!

The short 1.5" AALs I ordered from Rusty's showed up today. I just finished putting them in. The Jeep has a slight rake to it even with all of my 4wheeling tools and spare parts. I'm sure it will settle down to level once they've been flexed out and worked in a little. I'll take a slight rake over the slight butt sag it had going on before, any day. So, I'm all ready for tomorrow. See you guys at Denny's at 8:30 in the AM.

Well, my XJ is once again a "4" wheel drive...lol. I laso had the luck of the Irish with me. So, I pulled the front passenger side wheel and axle off. slid the telescoping magnet inside the axle housing to the diff. When I brought it back out the little chunk of the broken axle that was in the locker side gear was on the magnet. I was so happy I didn't have to pull the diff cover and completely take the carrier and locker apart to get to that chunk. I was even more happy when I put it back together with a solid one piece longside axle and test drove. It surprisingly drives just as smooth on the road in 2HI as it did with the axle disco set up. I wish I had installe da solid long side axle in it three years ago when my vacuum disco died. I am ready for the next wheeling trip whenever the rest of you guys are.

Jason!! How have you been brother?! Yeah, I was up at Walker Valley with a group from NAXJA and Master Pull. We were all trying to climb this really trecherous rock face. I snapped the long side on the D30. If I'd had my magnet with me on the trail I could have fixed it there. I wheeled the rest of the day and went everywhere in 3WD.
