Well I think Zack was the one who called it but I just read on the DNR website that they have temporarily closed the Upper Mainline trail at Walker due to "Trail Erosion". Here is the link to read all about it. http://www.dnr.wa.gov/RecreationEduc...losure_ma.aspx
Evidently the Goo is running over the side of the bank and down into Walker Creek. I have seen the DNR close other trails at Walker permanently to prevent threat of contaminating the creek. They say it is temporarely closed until the DNR can empliment trail erosion prevention steps. My guess is they will fill that mud pit in with rock.

For mud holes I dont think there is ever going to be a specific formula that works like "must have lockers and 37 inch tires." There are just too many variables. With mud horespower, vehicle weight, tire width, air pressure, amount of rain, last vehicle through, etc... all make a difference. I have seen guys get denied with 39" tires in mud holes that someone just made it through with 35" tires. Mud holes are the roulette game of the wheeling world. Hammer down and hope for the best!
