Alright so my 86 pioneer was running fine while in the woods until i turned it off after about hour and a half of driving around. then it would turn over but not start. if i have my buddy close the front butterfly on the carb it will start right up but rev to 3000 rpms and if you let go of the butterfly it automatically will choke out and die?

 

check for any loose vacuum lines. one might of fell off

all of them are connected it seems like it might be something to do with the carb?

 

well then you might wanna check your float and needle seat.. if you jarred it the needle could be stuck

 

found out what it was. the guy i bought it off had let it sit with hardly any gas in it so when i filled the tank up and went into the woods and bounced around the rusty gas tank it broke rust chunks loose and put then into my carb. i am getting a new tank and cleaning out all the chunks. thanks for your input though!
