Rods got here today so I'm ahead of schedule now. Decided to do a camsshaft so I'm looking for original one used in great shape or a mild one that works with my NEW stock valve springs. Any suggestions appreciated . Im only after torque and needs to work with stock computer and valve springs

Decided to go with the comp cams grind 252H 68-200-4. Will be ordered tomorrow along with new harmonic balancer through Amazon prime to get things moving.
The 252H grind is a .433/.433 Lift with 110 lob separation and provide even more torque down low where I want it. I'll be sure to use a quality high zinc oil for cam break in.
I really didn't want to go aftermarket due to so many failures out there but there is a lot of morons out there too so..I'm sure all will be good if broke in properly.
My compression estimates at static 9.56 dynamic 8.36 and a .068 quench. I'm not gonna deck block to help quench due to my compression already requiring a premium fuel most likely and not wanting to push it or increase cost further. I will be checking and cc-ing my actual compression after my rotating assembly is in.

To this. I use high temp ceramic cast alu color 1300° header paint on my block. Last longer. All other pieces I used a high temp black paint on.

I could definitely pass on what I learned in research and some good cost savings info. I research a whole lot before i figure out what I need for my intended goal especially when buying new.

I got the crankshaft in block and one piston/rod assembly installed. One of my new pistons got cracked so I'm waiting on parts store to receive replacement and get me my last piston/rod assembly.
Cam will be here Monday and harmonic balancer came in yesterday. Rest of what I need I can get at parts store for good price. Ie water pump, timing chain, injector seals etc..

Stroker will run fine with stock computer. From all the reading I've done you can use stock injectors for the 96+ models as the flow 23.2# and it's commonly recommended to use 24# injectors but stock injectors will run without issue on milder combos.
I plan to swap in 24# ford injectors after i get motor running.
You can modify the crank position sensor for a little more timing for some tuneablity.
Seems a lot of guys have trouble with the cam position sensor throwing a code but with a tooth pic you reset it and no check engine light.
You can also reset the ecu and put it into learn mode. Takes about 50 warm up cycles for ecu to re-learn new motor

Well one of my pistons got cracked getting put on the rod. I paid $150 for them with rings and couldn't get a replacement quickly. One of my good friends works at Napa has one for me. $87 but I'll have today then drop off to have pressed on rod.
So today I'll have rotating assembly done.
I also have to space down my stud girdle .250 to clear extra stroke. You only have to do this on I believe 96+. Also requires clearancing of the oil pan for the drop from the stud girdle. Easy peasy will make sure to get pics of the process on this one. Havent seen a lot of info on it just know its to be expected.

Well shoot Irish luck strikes again. So I got the piston and I told parts store it didn't look right. Turns out I was right. The piston is a h802cp not a h825cp. The casting number was 802 but the stamp on top and the box said 825.
So was missed marked from the manufacturer. Its already pressed on the rod so Napa is gonna eat the money on the install for this one but I'm out till Mon at least until I find the correct one.

I finally got around to getting my 2.75" OME leaf on the drivers side.
Its sitting about a 1.5" higher now which after it settles will be perfect.

Well I've had about a 3 week delay on one of my pistons that got cracked while being put on a rod. Turns out all the federal mogual speedpro pistons where misslabled and even the pistons I got where. Guy I bought from on eBay recently fixed his add but did not notify me. As soon as I figured it out I had piston the next day. I bought H825cp pistons as advertised but turns out they where H802Cp pistons. Only difference is the rings between the two. One std one metric.
