Default Jeep dies while driving

So my jreep has started dying while i am driving. It happened for the the first time about 2 weeks ago. I was getting onto I-5 and when i hit the gas the jeep died. I lost all power. I pulled to the side of the road, put it back in park and it started with no problems. I drove another 300 yards or so and the same thing happened. It fired right back up normally. I drove it home with no issues. Then about 4 days ago i was pulling onto Meridan and the same thing, i hit the gas and it died but fired right back up. Then just now i took my eight year old to school. I was idling through the parking lot. When i came to the stop sign the jeep sputtered and died. But yet again it started back up with no issues. Drove it home with no problems. Anyone ever have this problem? Im thinking either a fuel filter or pump? The check engine light comes on but goes away after i shut it off and turn it back on. Thanks for the help.

You could be get intermitten weak spark singals from the cop, weak spark means replace.Cause with those you need full spark.

that's right, but if it is a code P0300, it comes up coil pack, but could also be
  • Faulty spark plugs or wires
  • Faulty coil (pack)
  • Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
  • Faulty fuel injector(s)
  • Burned exhaust valve
  • Faulty catalytic converter
  • Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages
  • Faulty camshaft position sensor
  • Defective computer
so i just want to be sure what the exact code was.

you need a better scan tool that will tell you what it is the zone should have a good one that tells you what it is in words and not codes.

///// I thought it would be like the autozone where i live they use a large reader that tells you by words ,not numbers where i live plus they print it out for you too, thats the reader i also bought i hate running to get a cel read.

if it turns out to the the crankshaft postion sensor - make sure you get one with a long enough cable. Mine was doing the same thing - purchased a new one for just over $100, when I went to replace it, barely had enough length of wire to reach the harness. I ended up unclipping the harness at the engine to gain a little more slack.

You have a coil pack for the 2000 cherokee? And yes autozones reader did print it off to me in words, each code said the coil pack.
