How big is to big?
I have a 3.5 rubicon lift and 31x10.5’s … and I’m getting bored with it, my favorite thing right now is snow trips. I like deep snow and the 31’s aren’t cutting it anymore. I have done quite a bit of research on lifts. I know it’s a sticky subject with some people on what one to buy, but I want to focus on what size. I’ve been looking at long arm kits, like the 8.5 IRO and their 6.5. I have heard people say that the 8.5 can be top heavy, but I want to squeeze at minimum 35’x12.5(or 13.5) tires under her. I was even looking at running 36’, I want to have the largest foot print I can get. If I stuck with the 6.5 I know I would have to chop off most of my fenders and run larger bump stops. I know there isn’t an easy answer but is anyone running 36x13.5’s? Or an 8 inch lift? If I spend 5K on all the stuff I would WANT to do I don’t want to be sorry I did, I also still want to be able to drive it down the road.

Do your tires rub on your control arms in tight turns? How about when your flexed out do you have any rubbing on fenders? Maybe "chopping" off the fenders are kinda extreme, I know there is going to be "some trimming" ...

Proper back spacing for wheels and proper bump stops will take care of those issues. No I don't rub on arms or fenders

IRO is in my opinion the best choice. Very very nice product with great customer service. I have put my IRO 6.5" LA lift through its paces and beat it on plenty of rocks and I am extremely happy I went with them. plus the flex on it is from the RTI ramp scores much better then anyone else out there that I have seen in person. Am I bias because I have one, yes and no. Yes because I do, but more importantly because I did a heck of a lot of research before I bought a lift and all arrows pointed to IRO. I run the typical 35's with cut out flares with no issues of rubbing. It barely rubs at full flex on both back and front. I also don't rub on full steering lock. Bottom line, do your own research and take our word with a grain of salt and best of luck
