Hey everyone. I'm somewhat new to this forum so I just wanted to say hi and try to find out if there are any good trails around olympia (just spent most of my sunday finding closed loging gates and very shady looking private property). Any advice would be appreciated or if you want to pack the kids up and go find some trails on a weekend let me know.

welcome to CF from Buck up on Whidbey Island. being in Olympia your closest Off Road Vehicle area is going to be Capital Forest. Google it. You will find maps. I believe it is right off of I-5 on the west side of the freeway at the Hawk's Prairie exit. Then, of course you're next closest will be Tahuya State forest out by Belfair on the Peninsula, Evans Creek up by Bonney Lake at the foot of the northwest side of Mt. Ranier and then there is Elbe Hills waaaaaaaaay out in the sticks by Elbe. there are more but, those are the only ones within a couple hour's drive.
