HAHA....I'm wondering, if he was able to do everything else at Elbe Hills easily on 31s, why he let a little old tree across the trail keep him out of the Busy Wild.
Although had he gone on to do the Busy this time of year, a tree across the trail would have been the least of his worries. This is a pic of my Jeep going through one of the more shallow water crossings on the Busy during the summer months.....last summer. This is the one Tyrone almost Hydrolocked his Jeep in...The mudhole just before this one ended Tims day and we all know what a tank his Jeep is.
Long story short is NOBODY is making it through the Busy on 31s unless you're being dragged by something locked at both ends on bigger tires. I'm locked, geared and on 33s and I broke my Jeep on the Ranier Vista Trail. You guys all know the hill climb I'm talking about. All Real Jeeps try the right hand side first....

Anyway there are a few trails there that are ment for 31-33 inch tires open/open. i believe they are
sunrise, mainline and ext, and i think gotcha(it might be in the next catagory)
then its 33-35s 1 or 2 locker, winch and or tow points recovery gear...
alder, swap, gottcha,
then its 35+ dual lockers, recovery points, winch and a buddy!
ranier and busy
honestly rainier can be ran and has been ran on 31s. i say it should be in the middle group. The hard part(s) is the hill at the beggining and i think there were 1 or 2 spots at/near the end of the trail. Rest of it was cake.

yepp there was a huge tree fallen over the entrance over the busy so we went to rainer vista and i really didnt have a problem with my 31's never got stuck there are some hard lookin spots but room to go around i wasent sure about it at first cuz the sight says 36's or bigger full body armor front and rear lockers wench and tow points but i always like challenges it was fun and deff doable with 31 as i proved to my buddies

I remember that Elbe run where you ran everything on your stock size slick tires but, that was in the dryest part of the summer, too. This other guy claims he ran all the trails on 31s just a couple of weeks ago and that makes it right in the middle of winter. I have a very hard time buying that without pictures to prove it.

That's all fine and good but in order to make a statement like "I ran the whole Busy Wild trail at Elbe Hills in the middle of winter on 31s" taking the by-passes around all the hard obstacles won't cut the mustard if you want to impress the PACNORWEST crowd on this forum. Last summer I made it through the entire Busy Wild trail without any damage or pulling my winch cable even once...However, I'm locked, geared and on 33s...AND I took most of the by-passes just so I could know for myself that I made it through the Busy at least once. That same trip 3 different XJs on 35s had a much worse day than me (they broke)....but, they were doing all of the hard obstacles.

The guy I got my 31s from went through all the trails on the same set of 31 s that I got from him. It was his first time through the trails an he did em all. It wasn't a week later he found our when he went out with a group that that some trails required bigger tires
