I use a stock front shaft out of a V-8, Auto Tranny, ZJ, in my 91 XJ with 6" lift and SYE. It is a couple of inches longer than a stock 4.0. Auto tranny front XJ shaft. an XJ shaft barely fit in my Jeep fully extended while sitting straight and level. The ZJ shaft works perfect for my setup. I still carry a stock front XJ shaft as my trail spare because I can replace either front or rear shaft to get me home with my one spare.

There is not a driveline shop in Oak Harbor or Anacortes that I know of. There is one in Mt. Vernon but the guy does crappy work. The closest place that I would actually refer a friend to is Driveline Service of Bellingham. I believe the guy who owns it's name is Ken. He custom built the shafts for my Toyota Truck years ago when I did the Marlin Crawler double Transfer Cases. His shop is off of Iowa Street right behind Northwest Offroad, the Toyota 4x4 shop up there.

The ZJ shaft I have in my Jeep is out of a 97. I believe any 93-98 V-8 auto trans ZJ front shaft should work. They are really skinny. Mine is a little thinner than my OEM front XJ shaft but believe me when I say it's tough!! I ripped through every trail at Elbe a couple of weekends ago including THREE trips through the Busy Wild. Then, I drove my Jeep the 200+ miles home. Well worth the money you will spend on one and knowing that you can pick up a replacement in most any scrap yard, should you need to!
