Default Door legality in Wa

Is it legal to run around with tube doors or half doors in Wa state? Every once in a while I see guys running with no doors and I'm 90% sure that's illegal. But wast sure on half or tube.

RCW46._ _ has nothing about needing doors on vehicles in there so... they might haggle you about it but can't ticket you for it. By the way anything you want to know about any sort of requirement/law so on and so forth are listed in there and not just about vehicles

It depends on the cop. You can actually be fined a "generic" ticket for not having proper equipment on a vehicle. Tube doors and half doors are perfectly legal AS LONG AS YOU HAVE A DRIVER SIDE MIRROR ( you don't need the passenger one. ) Wranglers get away with it more commonly than an XJ, why? Have you seen that huge lip between the floorboard and the door edge? It's made that way so people can SAFELY run doorless. Xj's don't have that lip. Once again, all boils down to the cop that pulls you over... Mind you running doorless and getting pulled over for it can lead to more inspection of the vehicle, and even more fines ask any cop and he'll just tell you that of the doors were made to come off at the manufacture than its all good. But a definite yes on the rear view and driver side mirror

Speaking from a TJ perspective I run around without doors all the time and never get hassled. But, I'm sure because it's pretty common knowledge that Wranglers are more or less built with that ability that makes sense.

I also make sure to always put on my driver side mirror just to be safe from getting hassled.

That is like saying a cop can give you a generic ticket for not having the right color vehicle. RCW's are written just for this reason they tell you what is and isn't legal/needed on a vehicle, doors are not mandatory according to the law.
With that being said it don't mean cops know every little detail of the law and could pull you over for this under their judgement and write you a generic ticket, but it wouldn't hold in court.

Removing the doors is like removing safety equipment. Remove the airbags and see how they like that.

I wasn't saying "here, here's a ticket Stating for no reason, but really for no doors" regardless they can still ticket you.... A police officer is still an officer of the law and can still do what he feels is neccesary, whether it holds up in court or not.

Ok I'm now gonna tell ya why you never listen to nitwits on the interwebs, I searched and found it in the RCW's so here you go

RCW 46.37.517

Body and body hardware.

(1) The body, fenders, and bumpers shall be maintained without protrusions which could be hazardous to pedestrians. In addition, the bumpers shall be so attached and maintained so as to not protrude beyond the original bumper line.

(2) The hood, hood latches, hood fastenings, doors, and door latches shall be maintained in a condition sufficient to ensure proper working equal to that at the time of original vehicle manufacture.

[1977 ex.s. c 355 § 44.]

So after all that it is illegal to drive without doors and here is the direct link

I got an ticket the other day for modified exhaust on my jetta in Bonney Lake. It`s not even that loud. Everything on my jeep is modified and I`ve never got an ticket in that.
