Lol not if I can help it! I got the mount sorta straight and cut out some 3/16" plates to box it in til I can get the 1/4" mounts. 3/16" isnt my first choice but its still almost twice as thick as the stock mounts. Ive abused my Jeep for years and this is the first non-body damage I've done so it should survive one trip to Elbe. I wont be attempting the busy this time tho.

If anyone needs welding done, just let me know... I'm a certified welder. I don't mind helping out if you own a welder. (Mine is a crappy welder as I don't weld much)

Hey Dude!!! If you are coming to the Camp Elbe Hills Run, please bring your welder with you. I have a sneaking suspicion you just might make a lot of new friends if you are the guy there with a welder and the know how...LOL!!

I think the best mod I've seen on stock forward control arm mounts (and to be included in any aftermarket repairs and upgrades) would be to box them in somewhat. The back ones are pretty much boxed in with the unitbody.

HAHA!!! Good deal, Eric. I have a picture in my mind of the parking/camping area there at Elbe that first night after wheeling, especially if we hit up the Busy that first day, looking like the pics I've seen in Peterson's4wheel mag of the the Ultimate Adventure. Welding and fixes of all sorts going on all over the place...LOL. I'm sure between all of the guys that will be there that we will have the parts to build 2-3 extra Cherokees. I always pack D30 shafts, drive shafts and a complete extra steering. Plus, I always have extra fuses, relays and wiring for any little electrical gremlins that might hem me up. Plus I have extra tarps and extra flashlights. There will be no reason for anybody to be laying in the mud or working in the dark.
