CHEROCON to 1 Ton YJ Build
so i have gotten word that some of you wanted me to start a new build thread on my new rig now that the CHEROCON is no more. so here it is!
picked up a 1988 Wrangler YJ tub and frame for $200. perfect starting platform! my plan for this rig is as follows
-14bolt/dana 60 axles
-82" wide
-110" wheelbase
-double triangulated 4 link front and rear
-16" coilovers up front/14" coilovers in the rear
-comp cut rear corners
-running my I6 motor/AW4 trans/np231 tcase for now until i can afford a v8 and atlas or dana 300 tcase
-cutting the front and rear frame off and custom building for high clearance
-custom high rise front fenders
-full hydro steering
-37" tires until the funds for 40s pop up
im sure there is a few more details i didnt list but i will get to them as i go along
im hoping to have this done before august for a trip but who knows!

Axles pulled out
Front frame section cut off and frame rails getting prepped for new motor mounts
CHEROCON motor trans and tcase pulled and set into yj

Picked up a rear 14 bolt complete with disc brakes already
Difference in shaft size between full float 30 spline dana 60 and full float 30 spline 14 bolt. Dont think i will be breaking that
Picked up a hood and grill for dirt cheap

Custom motor mounts made
Motor in place finally
Tires set at 82" wide. Hood and grill set in place
Where front tires will be at with 110" WB. Approach angle should be good!
Just ordered Genright rear comp corner guards and all my rear link brackets to get the 4 link done
