I bet it is most likely a bad fuel pump. My number two suspect would be the CPS.

Check fuel pressure. That'd be my guess.

Typically if its CPS it wont run at all because timing is off.

When was the last time plugs, wires, cap, etc replaced?

LOL....I just found out I've been driving my 78 GMC 454, 4 degrees too far advanced for the past three months. It always has awesome torque and power and gets 8 mpg no matter what, so I never suspected a thing.

My steering is really light. I like it, less effort to make precision inputs.

Tom, have you taken a look at what your steering linkage and trackbar are doing since you've had this "easy steering" condition? I've found if the trackbar is loose or especially when it isn't connected because I broke while wheeling...lol...the steering gets really effortless but, that is because it is much easy for your steering to pull your axle out from under your Jeep side to side than it is for it to move your wheels when you have your trackbar holding the axle under your Jeep like it is supposed to. Have somebody cycle your steering while you get underneath and take a look at what your front end linkages are doing. I bet you find something hokey going on under there.

its always seemd kinda light, even before the lift and stuff . i replaced the factory linkage with a HD currie linkage and the track bar along with a drop for it, so all that junk is new. when turnin to the right i do hear a clunk of some sort tho, that said i know my quick disco's rub on my springs. seems weird for it to be so light with bigger heavy tires. i dont think anything is loose or out of adjustment huh? there are no vibes or wabbles when i am goin down the road. i know i aint to hep on it tho. i will get someone to turn it tho and watch what it doin.
