Full symptom list (at least as much as I can remember
Started bogging and dying since tahuya, but only a little bit
Drove to work fine, driving home. Gas light both directions, started sputtering and shaking rolling into the gas station.
Pulled up shut her down, filled her up. Went to restart, and it started, but it was VERY shy on fuel. It was sputtering the same as when I pulled in, but I now had a full tank.
Continued to try and start, it ran the fuel out of the system and was dead since then.
We have tried:
Playing musical relays under the hood
I pulled the line at the fuel rail, no fuel pressure
We pulled the line behind the filter, no fuel pressure.
I have a new pump but want to make sure it IS the pump before I toss it in, that's $100 I cannot afford right now :/

Westy, now that I have read ALL of the symptoms you're experiencing with your Jeep. I will 100% gurantee you that your fuel pump is bad. Swap it out and your Jeep will be good to go.

....And you have tried everything else that could possibly fix it but, the fuel pump.

so there's either something clogging the line (maybe sucked up sludge knocked loose on the trail) or an electrical/pump issue.. I'll be at work soon, and I'll see what I can find there

I've only seen one time where a Jeep had all of the symptoms yours has and the fuel pump didn't fix it. That ended up being a broken ground wire on the fuel pump assembly inside the tank. That happened on my son's 87 RENIX 4.0 one time.
Ok thank you buck, and everyone who helped. I'll replace it tonight and hopefully not have to drive danger ranger to work tomorrow

All that money and it ended up being a $25 part.

Check the ignition switch! It took me so long to figure it out with my Civic, the fuel pump wouldn't prime when in "run" position, but it would if you held it kind of between run and start, took it apart and the ignition switch had arced at some point and was keeping it from making a proper connection to turn on the power until the key was almost past the run position.Originally Posted by Slimgoaty
That's the other thing that didn't make sense. He was rocking the key on and off and none of the relays were clicking, then suddenly they started clicking.
All that money and it ended up being a $25 part.

I don't think that's it. It ran fine before, and even if I push it past it doesn't primeOriginally Posted by Prototype4342
