I won't do the Busy with anybody who doesn't have at least 33s, lockers and their own winch...and I hear 35s or bigger are recommended. 33s work since I have lockers F&R, my own winch, sliders, armor on all four sides and the belly and the "no fear of body damage" factor...LOL!!!

Basically, nobody wants to be having to drag the guy behind them all the way through the trail. So, if you are not properly setup, run one or all of the other trails. I didn't run the Busy the first time I went to Elbe because it was wintertime and I didn't and still don't believe my current rig setup will get me through the Busy when it's in Winter form. I still haven't run the Busy but, I have a good warm fuzzy feeling that I will get myself through just fine in it's Summer dry form. If I do get stuck my winch can pull my Jeep out of anything.

If I'm feeling pretty confident after the Busy, I may just give that rock climb on Ranier Vista another try. I have a bit more armor on the bottom of my Jeep than I did last time I tried it.

i am definitly gonna try the "Busy" when we go, i have lockers F&R, 35" tires, sliders/armor/bumpers and a winch to pull me out. i am gonna be painting my jeep soon so i will just pound out all the new damage i get . as long as i dont break my hatch like somebody we know did (not naming any names or anything )

Okay, so i did a re-cap of everybody who has answered my thread and others I have talked to, so far. I have 6 definites and 5 possibles. That is pretty good for the first day after posting the thread. It would probably be better to have a few less XJs than the last Elbe run but, seeing a 4x4 place overrun with XJs is awesome!!

i have seen a few of this paint job around town and really like it, so i am gonna go with a blue camo. i am gonna start it out like a normal paint job (you can never prep to much) and all my bumpers, sliders, roofrack, bushwackers, front grill, and door handles will be coming off. better coverage. trim around windows will be taped off and car will be sanded and sprayed with a base blue. i am gonna try and match it as close as i can to a rattle can blue so i can touch up as necessary. then i will use blacks, haze gray, dark gray and some dark blue with spray cans for the "camo" look

also i just picked up a MIG/FLUX welder and am teaching myself to weld. practiced some today, went better then i thought. welded some 3/16" plates together, then smashed them around outside to see if i could break it apart....and it stayed strong! i noticed a little warpage in the lower plate, so my voltage was probably to high, but hey, it is a learning experience! i got my training from the University of You-tube, and study books came from Firefox 3.6!

HAHAHA!!!!!!! I guess you better!!!!!!! You really can do it yourself. Since you installed your lift yourself. I know you can do the HP30 by yourself. The hardest part is compressing the coils and installing them without killing yourself. As far as swapping the brakes, hubs and axles over. Just get yourself a Haynes manual or just Google it online. Just remember the old hubs and axles are mine after you pull them out. As long as you wheel with me I will have them if you or I need them.
