ok they will fit, butttttt you need to modify the seat track to fit in the seat track area of your xj. have you looked at your xj seat area without a seat in it? its pretty narrow.
and to answer this simply, you and put any seat in an xj, its how much work do you want to do to get it in there?

Hey guys I got another question to add to this. I assume we are talking about front ZJ seats in a Cherokee. Does anybody know if rear ZJ seats fit in a Cherokee without to much intense modding? The reason I ask this is because rear ZJ seats are split in half well not half but 2 seats. I wanted to put a single seat in the rear of my Cherokee so I can still have 3 seats.... "sometimes I have a few people that come wheelin with me". I have plans for the other half.

yes you can make them fit butttttt they are about 1 inch wider and they dont lay down flat they have a little hump to them when they are forward so with some serious modding im sure you could get them to work but if not and just a little modding they will go in.

yep quick swap. but remember, the seat frames are the same, the thin tubing, if your gonna do a seat change do it with some thing strong. i have the limited seats in mine and they arent comfortable and they are weak as far as construction and the electrical mechanisms arent much to be desired. im gonna do the zj or wj step up, i will probably do a write up because i havent seen one with pics and it would probably help alot of us out that want to swap seats.

You're telling me that ZJ and WJ seats are a direct swap in a 96 XJ? And, with a bit of rubbing and limited movement, the rear of a ZJ would fit too? What year ZJ stuff fits in 96 XJ? That would be beautiful. Oh, please fel free to PM me with your research if you like. It may save you a lot of questions from me.
