My question is that I am soon to purchase some power leather WJ seats to swap in and I keep reading about the need of existing XJ mounting hardware. Seeing that the stamped steel as mentioned previously in the thread is the issue at hand with my current seats, will this become a new issue when mounting the new WJ seats? Or are the rails mounted to the floor all that are needed?

And also, if anyone has some insight, what am I getting myself into with the power/heated seats being installed into my '00 XJ with manual seats? I've read of some pigtail or something that is on the XJ harness already on a few websites. Is it really a plug and play setup??

Thanks,
-Tyler
There are four bolts (two in the front and two behind) that hold your seat and the rails to the unibody. Take those bolts off and take your seat out. Then take the rails off by the bolts holding them to the seat. Use those rails instead of the ones coming with the new seats and bolt the xj ones to your new seats. Then bolt those tails to the ground And presto chango there ya go!

I have no clue about the wiring: )

^Thanks. I figured as much with the seats, just needed it dumbed down for me real quick Well that's no big deal at all considering it's the stamped steel brackets that are physically attached to the XJ seat bottoms that are broken (well were physically attached). So as long as I have the rails I'm good to go.

Now off to find info on wiring up the heated portion of the seats...
