Hi everyone, I’m planning on swapping in ZJ seats into my 1996 Jeep Cherokee with manual seat tracks. From everywhere I’ve read the ZJ seats will line up perfectly with my 96 Cherokee seat brackets and will be a direct bolt in. Is it true that it’s a direct bolt in? Also, if I find ZJ seats with the manual recline function but power options for the lower part can I just put it on my XJ seat bracket and have all manual functions? Or will there be some problem with it not lining up, rubbing, etc? Any information will help. Thanks!

The seat bucket unit (bottom and back) bolts to the base with 4 nuts on studs. They will mount to any base unit, weither it be power or manual, but you may have to trim some fabric for the switches and use whichever side trim will fit. I have an early XJ seat in my WJ to replace a broken driver's seat. Soon I will get a pair of 99-01 XJ seats for the front. Mine are manual and the bases are totally different because they changed the floorpan drastically for the WJ.
