Hi everyone!
I want to do the zj rear disk to xj mod and I don't wanna dish out the $$ for new calipers or backing plates. I just wanted to grab those components from the scrap yard tomorrow. So my question is how do I remove the backing plate off a zj? Thanks

I've been searching the whole Internet for the past couple hours and I haven't found anything yet. Thank you any ways for stating the obvious :P

Just looked through the write ups and threads like you suggested. Looked at some helpful and interesting things but still nothing ( google would have found it earlier any ways) so if anyone out there could give me a hand that would be great thanks.

Remove the calipers and rotors, remove the diff cover and remove the pin that retains the cross shaft, slide the cross shaft from the carrier being careful not to spin the axles or drive shaft, push the wheel mounting surface of the axle in and the remove the C clips from the other end of the axle shaft in the carrier, now carefully slide the axle shaft from the axle housing being careful not to damage the outer axle seal. Now remove the four bolts that secure the backing plates and pull them off.
You may need to use the parking brake cable from the doner ZJ, you will need the brake line and hoses from the doner.
