ZJ gas tank skid

ZJ gas tank skid
so i am looking for a gas tank skid for my 96 xj, it has the stock plastic guard thing over my metal tank, do i remove that or do i just put the skid over it? And i heard you could put a ZJ skid on the xj? Can someone link me a thread for how to fit the ZJ skid on my 96 xj?

I don't have a link but I did put one on a '98 XJ.
All you do is pull off your reciever hitch & use it as a guide to mark & drill holes in the ZJ skid.Then put the skid up,followed by the reciever hitch & insert the bolts through both of them & bolt them to the Jeep.
Don't have a hitch? Now is a great time to get one.
