Been adding ZDDP since the oil went from SM-L to SM-M awhile back. Read a 8-10 page thread on NAXJA about it and got worried about my remanufactured engine. I called the company that built it and they recommended I put in the additive to extend my engine's life so that's what I did and do till today.

And I certainly agree with COSXJFAN that more attention should have been paid to this issue by the popular press. I feel sorry for the millions of owners of vehicles with flat tappet valvetrains who don't know about this issue. It sure pays to seek out information rather than just waiting to have it spoon-fed to you by the popular press. Sometimes I wonder about renewing my subscriptions to Mopar Action, Mopar Enthusiast, etc, but then I realize how many times I've been aided by information in those publications and realize that those mags have already saved me more money than I've spent on subscription fees. It pays to seek out info!

Looks like all my oil changes from now on will have some kind of ZDDP booster.
Hey blue, How long does it usually take to get a case of the stuff you use? I have to change my oil this weekend so i might try out the lucas oil stuff since they have it at autozone.
anyone think this stuff wouldn't be worth a shot?

ok noob i have an 01 XJ and lost 2 lobes on my cam and had 2 holes in the bottoms of two of my lifters at 112,000 miles, NOW TELL ME XJ'S ARENT PICKY LOL. i found out that this is actually a dealer recall (that means only the dealers know about it and arent goin to tell you, trust me i tried)
Now i talked to cascade 4x4 in Grand Rapids, Michigan looking for parts and come to find out he just had this happen to a customers 04 Wrangler. He got this deal from a friend at the dodge dealership. I got a cam lifters all gaskets oil pump and pickup tube for 200 bucks. To buy a Mopar Cam buy itself it runs 210 bucks(thank god i called him lol). This is why i put rotella in but to now find out that it doesnt have zinc i will probably be buying that ZDDPlus stuff that was posted.
i will try my damndest to post pics of my cam and lifters later.
HTH someone

Well the whole internet is wrong and you are right and my being on here and posting 8300+ times won't make it or you correct. We have our opinions and you use what you like in your motor and I will continue to add ZDDP to mine and I wish us both good luck.
