I have had my Duratracs for almost 3 years now and mounted on 2 vehicles. I have about 20k miles on them and they are still around 80% tread(I've been told theyre only 40k tires!). I have been pretty rough on them and I've only seen minor chunking. I have been lazy and have not rotated them even once and haven't been the best about tire pressure and they wear very evenly. They don't self clean mud very well but the still grip very nicely.

hey man, I'm swamped at work today or I would type out the reviews that JP magazine did on all of these tires....
but anyway, they did a write up on 37 different tires and the three you are considering as well as the falken wildpeak are featured .... March 2012 issue of JP Magazine - "THE HOT SHEET" - check it out for a decent read.

When reading about the Duratrac's, that is the second place I have heard about a weak sidewall. From my understanding however, I had thought it was more than a 2 ply sidewall? You guys had any problems with the sidewalls?

i loved my bfg at's. on road and off. Snow they were great. Mud was as expected for a AT. Duratracs will out perform them off road but for highway i would go bfg's.

I love mine, they hooked up good on icy roads, and so far have been awesome offroad. yesterday I even side walled up a boulder and they didn't tear so I'm happy!

i vote duratrac
a fellow xjer i know runs them and keep up with me an my 33 m/ts
i had the at kos on my zr2 and was not impressed. the peanut pattern they share with the grabbers needs a lot of wheel spin to clear out. i.e. they pack up quick and become slicks.
also if you keep a constant/ correct tire pressure you won't have much issue with uneven wear or cupping

So question, anybody here ordered from DiscountTireDirect? If so, what was your experience?
So if I were to get these,I would most likely order them from DiscountTireDirect

Gotta give credit to the Goodyears. Here we have Wrangler Territory available, modestly priced (31 x10.5 x15, was $165 on sale each at end of 09, self mounted, run low $200's today), I've got 85000 miles on now, plan to continue running this summer. Happy with them. Excellent traction year round, on and off, all terrain, mud clears well.
