Default you have problems when.....

my jeep started overheating really strange this weekend so i got a new waterpump just cause that was the only cooling part i had not replaced yet but before i got a chance to put it on i blew my head gasket. i got the water pump out tonight and found the issue......the fins that propel the water through the whole system just broke off inside everywhere.definately explains the weird overheating it was doing
this is what the new one looks like, a 110% inprovement, still have to fix head gasket though, working on it in the morning more

WHat's in the water where you live?

Sulphuric acid?

Ate the pump impeller clean off, almost.

use a testor to test the anitfreeze level when you top it up. Mixture might have been to corrosive.

What kind of tester do you use? Will the level make a difference in acidity?

Just got through replacing my waterpump couple weeks ago. Trying to replace the head gasket as well. Hope to finish tomorrow if I can find a good socket in town. Found out that I did not have a 5/8" socket for the head bolts so went to the parts store. All they had was cheap junk so I got it hoping it would work. Cracked it on the third bolt. Go find me a good one tomorrow and finish up hopefully. Hope yours isn't so much trouble.
