Default Yoke play with pinion nut removed

I pulled my front yoke to replace the seal (HP D30 swapped into a 2000 XJ). Once the nut was removed, the yoke slid off easily. I slid it back into place and it has just a bit of wiggle to it. My question is, should it fit snug to the spines with no wiggle, or once the nut is installed and torqued it is responsible for removing the wiggle? Thanks!

Unless it's really sloppy, I wouldn't worry about it. Once torqued, it'll be fine.
