YJ pitman arm on XJ?
Hey guys will a drop pitman arm off a YJ steering box work on an XJ?
Found one but don't wanna buy it if for some reason it won't fit.
Also, if it's a 1" drop arm how much drop would that equate to on an XJ?
Thanks

got my drop pitman arm from quadratec. better to go with something made to fit your xj. you can buy the $200 ones but the 60 something is the same thing and good for any 4-8" lift

K I just want to know if the one from a YJ will fit. I can buy it for a lot cheaper and theyre all made from the same cast steel.

now you could snag that power steering pump from the Yj and have a good steering setup (you would seriously need to brace it though if you put it in)
YJ power steering boxes are stronger than XJ boxes.. (there's some techinical plus's to using one in your XJ...something about valving or etc... it escapes my mind, i'm sure someone will shed some-more light on it) very good idea to swap one in if you plan for some big tires.. will help out a lot

Didn't know that about the box. It's from a 95 YJ.
So if the YJ arm is a 1" drop then it'd be pretty much a stock pitman arm for my XJ.
Does the YJ box mount up the same?

i'm honestly not sure but i do not believe so... i think there is an extra bolt hole or like the spacing from the frame is a little different.... look into it and you'll find out, there are a few people on here that know what i'm talking about.. i just haven't done the swap myself but i know it can be done
