Yet another no-start thread!
Hey everyone,
I could use some serious help from anybody here. Currently working on a 94 XJ, 4.0. It's been sitting for about four months.
The issue: has power, cranks, will not start.
Things that have been replaced: CPS, plugs, cap, rotor, ignition coil.
I'm running out of ideas here. I did the basic spark test, and wasn't getting anything either. If anybody has any new ideas, please let me know.

check the big fuses in the fuse box under the hood. My 02 sensor grounded out on the exhaust and popped that fuse and caused similar symptoms to what you are describing.
and to be clear you are not getting spark while cranking right?
the fuse that ended up being bad i think was engine control or something along those lines.
Do you hear your fuel pump prime?

No spark while cranking. And the fuel pump does prime for about two seconds. There is pressure on the line too.

"CPS". Crank Position Sensor or Cam Position Sensor?
The same abbreviation gets used for both, so it can be a bit confusing. Some people use CkPS for the crank sensor to avoid the confusion.
Anyway, either one can get you a no-spark, no-start.

Might be silly. But your grounds are good? Hook a jumper cable from the negative battery terminal to the engine block. And another from the negative cable to the frame. Try again.
