So... I bought this 96 classic a month and 2 days ago, 2 days after purchase, I had to do the torque converter, and heater control valve, gonna need tires and breaks soon, now the radiator has a crack, going to do the belt as well, my question, would a stock radiator be ok or should I upgrade? It will be mostly local/hwy driving with the occasional 350 mile round trip and with any luck, surf fishing if they ever open up the beaches here on the south shore of Long Island

Save the cash and get your cracked radiator repaired. Radiator repairs are cheap and usually have a warranty!

Thought about that too, being this is my only car, i wouldn't want to be out of a car for too long and also going on a small road trip and would t want to be stuck in sticks somewhere, not that it couldn't happen with a new one lol

a new rad is around 120 bucks just get a new one.... since your doing the rad I also suggest.... getting a Mopar thermostat (24.95) just as a matience item... and replace the rad hoses... since its a DD this will lesson the likely hood of a break down...

As long as your not wheeling (too much) get a new one that's stock. But if you plan on wheeling look into getting a copper brass radiator or full aluminum, these are easier to repair on the trail or when no shops are handy to fix it.

They sometimes have a way of welcoming their new owner, don't they.

Where did the radiator crack, the side tank? The radiator shop here won't fix the plastic/aluminum radiators, it's about the same price to replace it as to have the side tanks replaced.

Lol so true! Its leaking up by the upper neck where the fins meet channel if your looking from the passenger seat, it looks like its spraying onto the belt so I guess I know why it's slipping?

Just for kicks get a tranny cooler too. B&M makes a good one that's cheap and reliable.
