Default XJ's Killing Me...Please Help?

Hey All...New to the forum...thanks for the help in advance...I have a major issue that i've been trying to solve for over a year. I have a 93 4.0 Cherokee with a mere 72k on it (was my paps)...I am having an issue with stalling, surging, bucking and overall terrible drive-ability. The funny part of this all is is it does not happen unless its over 45 degrees outside..colder than that..no issues at all. The jeep will stall on me only when turning right...never left...if I hit bumps it will surge and bucking and bang like it is coming apart...at any speed..if I accelerate real hard it clears up...and again it never happens when it is cold outside...its like hitting a switch when the temp hits 45 or higher..bang stall buck..scary to drive.. Here's what ive done: new fuel pump, filter, regulator, coil, distributor, wires, plugs, tps, cps, ecm, ignition switch, rerouted all wires, and vacuum lines, map, o2, ect. I took the transfer case out last summer and took it to a shop just to see if it could be in the case..no problems..good as new..I reinstalled the transfer case and like magic it didn't happen anymore even when warm..then one day I was stuck in some mud in August and I put it in 4 wheel drive for the first time since reinstalling the transfer case...a few minutes later I was making a right hand turn (no longer in four wheel) and it stalled...like shifting the case into 4wl after reinstalling it caused the problem again...I love my jeep...but it is to the point where it is to difficult to drive. Any thoughts? Ive read a bunch of posts similar but Ive replaced everything mentioned and still no fix? I'm at a loss...anyone have any ideas other than the meriad of things i have already done? Thanks again..

How does it idle? Cold and hot both.

I was about to go purchase a new fuel pump for mine after turning and washboard type bumps were causing stalling and surging. Only left turns and any sharp bump. I could always throttle out of the jerking/stalling/surging.

While in my driveway just before heading out to spend some cash on a fuel pump I thought I would check my grounds and other wiring before spending money. I had checked them before and not had any results. My first reach was for the main block ground and my jacket cuff brushed the wire to the distributer cap and the damn thing stalled out. Started it again and wiggled the connector that is a few inches from the cap/rotor and it stalled out again.

I cleaned the connector, taped and ziptied it up and havnt had any trouble since. I guess what im saying is:
accidently check all your grounds/associated wiring before you spend your monies.

I've let it sit in the sun running and pulled tugged and tapped every wire vacuum hose and line in the darn thing unable to duplicate....this is such a hassle..love the jeep though. It only does it while driving....idle speed is normal both hot and cold..I keep thinking back to the transfer case....does anyone know what the electical plug is for on the top of it?

Tried running dry gas or anything like that? You could have crap or build up in your tank...

I'm new to XJ's but do they have a fuel pump relay and have you checked it? I had the same exact problem with stalling while turning and it was the fuel pump relay (this was in a 1989 nissan 240sx)

During warm days when I turned left even the slightest bit the car would stall, I looked at the relay and it had broke free inside the plastic case during right turns it would hit the plastic housing and stay clodes ( working) on left turns it would move away from the huousing and open ( shut off the pump)

It may or may not be your problem but it's worth a check.

Hope it helps,
Matt
