Xj died all of the sudden while at idle in drive. Tried starting it and only cranks doesn't start. I checked the spark from my coil to the plugs and it wasn't getting spark. Therefore, replaced the coil, but still won't start. Then replaced the crank and cam sensors, still nothing. Plenty fuel pressure, and fuel pumps works fine. Starting to get worried here. Let me know what your opinions are please.

 

What year and what motor?

 

It is a 2001 with the straight 6. I appreciate your response, as this is the first time I've actually posted on this forum. I've found It to be pretty useful so far. But anyway, I figured out the issue. Check this out...



I finally thought about it and thought what were the chances, but sure enough. This is it. Not cheap either unless I get it junkyard style.

 

Is the oil pump seized? What does the cam gear look like?

I'm curious about turbo's questions, looks like something locked up and took out the tooth

 

Yea I'm wondering too if the oil pump is bad. Because its almost like why else would this happen? I know there is a bearing inside that oil pump shaft, and that is what froze up. I checked the other gear and it looks fine thank The Lord. Now I also have to pray that the teeth are in the oil pan and not thrown around the engine!
