Congratulations and welcome to the forum! If you're still subscribed to this thread, remember this tip: Whenever asking a question, always include the year, engine, and transmission if there's anything at all to do with the drivetrain!
People have been getting pretty grumpy about that lately. lol
Nah, not really. Some day you two will probably come across a nice tall lifted blue XJ with meaty tires, jet-black trim, beefy bumpers, strong shocks, frame stiffeners (ahem), and trail scars to prove he's made of the right stuff. So that gives you some ideas, you crawl under her and you'll find she's leaking everywhere! From then on it's a game of trying to catch up and making sure you're good enough, wondering how you measure up. Then all of a sudden you've ordered all these toys, make her nice and happy, and she's STILL thirsty for more. But all you can get out of her is P0300.
My green guy gets a little grumbly on a hot day. Pass a cute lookin' TJ with her top off, relaxing in the sun. Then we go over a bump and you realize how, ahem, stiff the suspension is. Haven't seen him leaving fluids behind yet! It'd be understandable, though; I too get awfully distracted driving through campus in the summer.
Damn Jeeps.

omg that was funny. you definitly didnt over pay too bad. i bought my 99 2dr se4x4 for 7700 out the door 5 yrs ago with 43 k on it. only options that jeep had was a/c,4.0,aw4 trans, and 4x4. nothing else. and to top it off it was that ugly purple blueish color that all my friends gave me **** for.

I'll agree with the fair price bandwagon.
But then, I pretty much have to. I bought my y2k XJ limited with 41k miles on it for $9k about three or four months ago. It's also red and it was also a "little old lady" car. I bought it from the little old lady. It was immaculate. Now? Not so much.
Sure, I could have found one much, much cheaper, and I know miles are nothin' but a thing on an XJ, but I'm willing (and luckilly, able) to pay more for one that hasn't been around the block too many times with somebody else. Call me jealous, or old fashioned, or whatever, but I likes what I likes.
