Default XJ (Where is the CPS?)

I have a 96 XJ. It will not start after many new parts. I am looking for the CPS (crank position sensor). If any of you have a picture of where it is located and what it looks like, I would appreciate it.

No pictures butI can tell you how to find it..Open the hood and look at the firewall on the drivers side and then look down and you will see where the transmission and motor connects. You will see what looks like a dust cover sitting on top with a wire coming out. There will be 2 bolts there as well. THat's the CPS.

Now that is pretty rare. Dizzy's usually are pretty trouble free except cap, rotor and wires.

Well, I tried it. Everything checked out fine. Then I did test two. Cost me 35 bucks. Everything checked out fine again. I am going nuts. I had to finally give in to my mechanic whom is charging me 135 bucks to get it checked. Kinda pricey, but worth it. I miss my jeep.

My mechanic put the computer on it. It wasn't the CPS. After so much researching, it ended up being something that didnt show up in my research with you guys. Thought I would let you guys know just in case you run into the same problem. It ended up being a Mini Fuse. I had checked all the other ones for the pump and the relays. Everthing was good. The small ones I hadnt checked. It was the green 30 AMP one. After we replaced it, it turned on. Worked for about a few hours and it went out again. My mechanic said it could be a messed up wire to that fuse or a relay. It is back in the shop to see whats wrong with it. Can't figure out why it is doing that.

Well, I had to replace the computer. It got completely fried. My mechanic found it at a junkyard for 85 bucks. I am back on the road.
