I have a 97 cherokee 4.0 auto and i was on a bumpy dirt lot and i punch it and all of sudden my speedo goes up to 100 and its bouncing off the rev limiter and i hear grinding i let off of the gas and it stopped and i drove home it shifted fine and all still. But does any body have an idea of what that could of been? And should i be worrying or nah.

 

Just sounds like you red lined it, if its acting fine I wouldn't worry
