Default XJ vs MJ front spring differences,Are they different?

Doing a search, the only thread or info I could find was a long dead thread from back in 2009.

Question is... Is the MJ spring longer than the XJ spring in stock applications, or are they the same?

Reason I'm asking is I stripped an XJ and since the front springs on the MJ were both broke, I replaced them with the XJ springs. As I was putting them on, I saw that even broken, the MJ front springs were about 2-3" taller than the XJ springs, and I was hoping that either the rate was different or maybe the MJ had the front springs replaced with something larger. After putting the front springs in, the front sits about 3 inches lower than before, I have a 4wd Comanche that's raked like Joe Dirt's Superbird and it's hunting as it goes down the road.

IF the Comanche and Cherokee have the same front springs, then that means the rears have been replaced as well on the MJ and I'm gonna have to drop it some, if they don't have the same rate, then I'm going to have to find someone (read sales person) who will quit telling me they are the same part.

Who knows the answer to this one? I've had a pile of XJ/MJs, but I've never had this problem since I've never replaced any of the springs and basically always kept them as daily drivers. Now I'm faced with something I don't know the answer to, but I guarantee someone here can answer this problem for me.

HELP!!

FWIW, I looked up the front springs for my '96, appears the following all use the same spring:

JEEP CHEROKEE (1984 - 1996)
JEEP COMANCHE (1986 - 1992)
JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE (1993 - 1998)
JEEP WAGONEER (1984 - 1987)

Although the part numbers differ between 2wd and 4wd.

Should be the same, however I believe ZJ's use different front coils but I think it's the V8 models only

K so most likely the springs have been changed before on the XJ since they were so much longer and lets it sit so low. Guess I'll be experimenting with pulling a leaf or two to see how that lets it settle. I hate to buy a new set of rears, but if pulling leafs doesn't do it, that means that's where I'm going
