The wires are good, I'm probably due for plugs. They're three year old champion coppers.

Better than over 30,000.
The distributor is good. No indexing issues. I put a new cap and rotor on.

I ran to the store and the engine stalled twice when I went to start it back up. The engine cranked, fired, and stalled twice. It started the third time and the tach shot up to 2500rpm. This has happened before, but not since the weather's warmed up.

How long did it hang at 2500 RPM?Originally Posted by austinjoe13

REcap what you've done so far please.
I bypassed the fuel pump ballast a few weeks ago.
I verified the TPS was properly adjusted and working.
Verified the distributor was properly indexed.
New cap and rotor.

I have not done #4. #1 was done by the previous owner, and I've done #3 recently.

I have not been able to do tip #4 yet. I haven't had any issues with stalling while driving since I started this thread, but it has stalled out a few times after starting. It did it to me today. It started right up on the second try, and the engine held at 1500rpm for 10-15 seconds.
