Default XJ security lights flash when locking the doors

Hello everyone. I think ive come to the end of the internet trying to figure out this problem.
When I turn off the jeep and go to lock the doors using the NEW door lock switch, the security lights flash until i put the key back in the ignition and start the engine. Sometimes if i play with key and door locks a few time, the lights stay off. Ive replaced the clock spring(that was mostly from trying to get the airbag light to shut off) Ive unplugged the module above the dome light and replace the door lock switch assembly on the drivers side with and aftermarket one. still no luck.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Following with interest. Also have this exact problem on my '98 XJ, with added battery drain just for fun. Might be linked.

Its your factory alarm. You can unplug it or leave it as an alarm.

That sounds suspiciously easy. Is there a fuse I can pull? It seems to be going off as soon as I lock using the keyfob.

It's not going off. That light is to know it is set. When it goes off the horn will sound and the lights will flash just like hitting the panic button on the remote.

Ah, sorry, I was not clear. Flashing indefinitly. Stops if I hit the unlock button.

That is what its supposed to do with the alarm on. It's a slow flash correct?

I don't believe there is a fuse just for the alarm. If it bothers you that much, there is a module under your dash on the driver side. It should have two plugs going into it. I don't remember which one but if you unplug one of them, it should disable your alarm
